Star United held its annual awards banquet at Chatham Tap in
Fishers on Friday evening. Members of the corps (past and present)
attended the event along with special guest and DCI luminary Dennis
Delucia.
Five performers were recognized by corps

Rookie of the Year:
Scott McCoy
All of the new members made a big impact, but none more than
Scott. He always came prepared and added another dimension

Member of the Year:

to give up his spot on the stage to ensure that the visual
program was able to comply with DCA rules while utilizing

Brad Stansberry Award:
Aaron Steele
This award is presented to the person "who best epitomizes
the Star United "esprit de corps" through his spirit,
enthusiasm, and work ethic." There are several people who
embody Brad's spirit. Aaron isn't always the most vocal
person in the group, but emerges to provide leadership at
critical times. |

prepared and happy to be there. She leads by example, is
first to volunteer, and participates in everything.
Championship organizations don't happen without committed

Director's
Award:
Brad Poreda
This new award was established this year to recognize the
special efforts of a member who went “above and beyond” the
call of duty in 2010. Brad traveled an enormous distance to
participate with the corps and spend an estimated 50-100
hours in preparing music for Star United.
