The corps performed an arrangement of
the Air Force Band’s hymn “Goin’ Home” and Star’s signature piece
“Wish” in addition to their mini corps competition program entitled
"Deja View" by Frank Sullivan.
The Carmel dress rehearsal performance
has been a tradition for the corps since its inception in 2006. The
crowd in attendance was the largest ever for the last performance by
the corps in Indiana for the 2009 season and included several noted
drum corps luminaries such as Donnie Van Doren and John Keays.
Several Star of Indiana alumni were also in attendance, as
well as families and friends of corps members.
Next week the corps will travel to
Rochester, New York to perform at the Drum Corps Associates (DCA)
Individual & Ensemble Championships on September 4. Star United
is the defending DCA Mini Corps Champions and will defend its title
against 12 other well-prepared units from across the nation.

Following the performance, Star
United President Sean Conley thanked the families of the Star
United members for their support of their loved ones. Conley
also expressed how much of a collaborative effort Star United
is and thanked all of the creative staff members who have dedicated
time and talents to help the corps prepare.
Conley also thanked the corps’ gracious
sponsors for their continued support through the years: Vic Firth,
Chops Percussion, Evans Drum Heads, Pearl Drums, and the Cook Group.
Carmel High School was also specifically
recognized for allowing the corps to utilize their tremendous
facilities and equipment throughout the off season. The access
provided by the schools music department is a critical key to the
Star United’s continued success.
